On September 23, 2025, the Czech National Bank will issue a gold coin with a face value of CZK 10,000 to mark the 1100th anniversary of the beginning of Prince Wenceslas' reign. The coin is minted from 999.9 fine gold and is issued in two versions, regular and proof, which differ in their surface finish and edge design. The proof coins have a highly polished field and a matt relief, with a smooth edge. Regular coins have a milled edge. The coin has a diameter of 34 mm, a weight of 31.107 g, and a thickness of 2.5 mm. Deviations of 0.1 mm in diameter and 0.15 mm in thickness are permitted in the minting of coins. A deviation of up to 0.062 g in weight and up to 0.01% in gold content is permitted.
The obverse side features St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague in the upper left part of the coin and the Přemyslid coat of arms, a flaming eagle in a shield, below it. The right edge of the coin bears the text "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA" (Czech Republic) and the denomination of the coin with the abbreviation of the currency unit "10,000 Kč" separated by a dot. The right side of the coin features the heraldic animals from the large state coat of arms, with the Czech lion at the top, the Moravian eagle in the middle, and the Silesian eagle at the bottom. The mark of the Czech Mint, consisting of the letters "Č" and "M," is located to the right of the Moravian eagle. On the reverse side, on the left side of the coin, is a figure of Prince Wenceslas from a fresco in the Rotunda of St. Catherine in Znojmo, holding a banner and shield in his hands and wearing a helmet on his head. Above the banner is the text "2025" and below the figure of Wenceslas is the text "925". On the right side of the coin are two depictions of Prince Wenceslas from Velislav's Bible: in the upper part, Wenceslas is kneeling and handing a sword to Boleslav, and in the lower part, there is a scene depicting the murder of Wenceslas by Boleslav's squires. On the left edge of the coin is the text "KNÍŽE VÁCLAV" (Prince Wenceslas). The initials of the coin's designer, academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů, consisting of the letters "F" and "Z", are to the right of the text "KNÍŽE VÁCLAV".
Each coin comes with a red catalog card containing a description of the coin and a plastic image of it.
