Gold Coin Year of the Dragon 1/4 Oz 2024 - LUNAR SERIES III.

The Year of the Dragon 2024 1/4 Oz gold coin is the fifth coin in the Lunar Series III from the Australian Perth Mint. The coin is minted from 1/4 ounce of 99.99% pure gold and celebrates the Year of the Dragon. The coin's motif is a portrait of a dragon with stylized waves and fog, which points to its control over the elements. On the reverse of the coin, both the Chinese character for "dragon" and the inscription "DRAGON 2024" and the Perth Mint's "P125" mint mark, marking the 125th anniversary of the mint. The 1/4 Oz coin includes a special security feature in the form of a microlaser-engraved letter, which is visible only under a magnifying glass, which significantly complicates the possibility of counterfeiting coins.
The reverse of the coin depicts a commemorative portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, with the dates of her reign "ELIZABETH II 1952-2022", the denomination "25 DOLLARS", the weight and fineness "1/4 oz, 9999 Ag" and the country of origin "AUSTRALIA".
The coins are minted in 4 sizes: 10 oz, 2 oz, 1 Oz, 1/2 Oz, 1/4 Oz and 1/10 Oz in 99.99% (24-carat) purest gold. The mintage of the 10 oz, 2 oz, 1/2 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/10 Oz coins is unlimited, only the 1 Oz coins are minted in a limited edition of 30,000 pieces.
