The Year of the Snake 2025 1 Kg silver coin is the sixth coin in the Lunar Series III from the Australian Perth Mint. The coin is struck from one kilogram of 99.99% pure silver and celebrates the Year of the Snake.
Each animal of the lunar zodiac is said to bestow its dominant qualities on those born during its reign. The Snake—the sixth of the 12 lucky animal symbols—brings wisdom, intelligence, independence, and personal charm to those born in 2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, and every 12 years retroactively.
Year of the Snake coin design
The reverse of the coin depicts a coiled snake on the ground beneath hanging leaves. The design also includes the Chinese character for "snake", the inscription "SNAKE 2025" and the Perth Mint's mintmark "P".

The obverse of the coin bears a portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Dan Thorne, accompanied by the weight, fineness and face value of the coin.
Security feature
The reverse of the coin contains a security feature in the form of a micro-engraved letter that is only visible under a magnifying glass. This detail makes it significantly more difficult to counterfeit the coin.

The coin is supplied in a protective acrylic capsule.
