The set contains Britannia silver coins in the following sizes: 1 oz (38.61 mm), 1/2 oz (27 mm), 1/4 oz (22 mm), 1/10 oz (16.5 mm), 1/20 oz (12 mm), 1/40 oz (8 mm)
About the coin series: Britannia
Since 1997, The Royal Mint in the United Kingdom has been issuing the Britannia bullion coin with a face value of 2 pounds (GBP). The coins were originally struck with a fineness of 958/1000 and delivered individually packaged. Since 2013, the series has been brought into line with international standards for bullion coins and is produced in 999/1000 fine silver, as well as being issued in sets of 20 in plastic tubes. A distinctive feature of the Britannia is that all issues with an even-numbered year share the same design featuring Britannia and a shield, whilst the years in between feature varying designs. In 1997 and 1999, the designs were identical once again.
Since 1987, the Britannia has also been issued in gold by The Royal Mint with a fineness of 916.67/1000, and since 2013 with a fineness of 999.9/1000. The design changes annually, much like the silver version. The coin is available in denominations of 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz and 1 oz.
