Gold coin 10000 CZK Princess Ludmila 2021 Proof

On September 14, 2021, the Czech National Bank will issue a gold coin with a nominal value of CZK 10,000 to mark the 1,100th anniversary of the death of Princess Ludmila. The coin is minted from 999.9 fine gold and is issued in two versions, regular and high-quality (proof), which differ in surface finish and edge design. In high-quality coins, the field of the coin is highly polished and the relief is matted, the edge is smooth. Regular quality coins have a serrated edge. The diameter of the coin is 34 mm, the weight is 31.107 g and the thickness is 2.4 mm. When minting coins, deviations of 0.1 mm in diameter and 0.15 mm in thickness are allowed. The weight is allowed to vary by up to 0.062 g and the gold content by up to 0.01%. The obverse of the coin depicts the strangulation of Princess Ludmila according to Velislav's Bible. The text "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA" is placed at the top edge of the coin, under which are the heraldic animals from the large state emblem. In the middle is a Czech lion, to the left of it a Moravian eagle and to the right of it a Silesian eagle. The denomination of the coin with the abbreviation of the monetary unit "10,000 CZK" is placed at the bottom edge of the coin. The mark of the Czech Mint, which is formed by a composition of the letters "Č" and "M", is placed at the right edge of the coin. On the reverse side of the coin is a portrait of Princess Ludmila with a veil and a princely crown. On the left edge of the coin are the initials of the coin's designer, academic sculptor Zbyňek Fojtů, which are formed by a composition of the letters "F" and "Z", and the text "921-2021". The initials of the coin's designer are separated from the text by a dot. On the right edge of the coin is the text "KNĚŽNA LUDMILA".
