They are currently minted in sizes 1 Oz, 1/2 Oz, 1/4 Oz, 1/10 Oz and 1/25 Oz. The coins are minted from pure 999.9% gold (24kt). The Wiener Philharmoniker investment coin is the best-selling investment coin in Europe and the second best-selling in the world. On the reverse, the coins bear the motif of the musical instruments of the famous Vienna orchestra, which was chosen by its author, Thomas Pesendorfer, an Austrian engraver and coin designer. The cello, located in the center, is surrounded by four violins on the bottom and, from the top left, a French horn, a bassoon and a harp on the right. The name WIENER PHILHARMONIKER is printed in the upper ring of the coin. The obverse depicts the organ motif in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, home of the Vienna Philharmonic. Below it, the weight of the ounce coin is ''1 UNZE GOLD'', the fineness ''999.9'' and the year of minting, which is the only one that changes every year. The ring of the coin then contains information such as the nominal value ''100 EURO'' or ''2000 SCHILLING'' and the country of origin ''REPUBLIK OSTERREICH''.
