Famous Australian bird

Famed for its raucous laughing call, the kookaburra is heard across Australia – from the outback to the back yard. And while it may be adept at snatching food from your barbeque or picnic table, the kookaburra enjoys a varied menu in the wild - insects, earthworms, frogs, fish, mice, or even venomous snakes!

35th anniversary design

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the iconic Australian Kookaburra, the coin’s reverse depicts a majestic kookaburra perched on a tree branch. A privy mark pays tribute to the original Australian Kookaburra coin design, with radiant lines symbolising a sun burst. The reverse also includes the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA 35th ANNIVERSARY’, the coin’s weight, purity and 2025 year-date, along with The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The coin has been struck with an extra-deep blank to showcase its superbly detailed design in high relief.

Coin show packaging

This coin is housed in a superbly illustrated presentation card featuring the words 'SYDNEY MONEY EXPO ANDA SPECIAL' and the Australasian Numismatic Dealer’s Association’s logo. On the back of the card is a fold-out stand for upright display.
