Silver coin 200 CZK Aleš Hrdlička 150th anniversary of birth 2019 Proof

On March 20, 2019, the Czech National Bank is issuing a commemorative silver two-hundred-crown coin to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Aleš Hrdlička. The two-hundred-crown coin is minted from an alloy containing 925 parts silver and 75 parts copper and is issued in two versions, regular and top (proof), which differ in surface finish and edge design. In top-quality coins, the field of the coin is highly polished and the relief is matted, the edge is smooth with the frieze "ČESKÁ NÁRODNÍ BANKA * Ag 0.925 * 13 g *". Regular-quality coins have a serrated edge. The coin has a diameter of 31 mm, a weight of 13 g and a thickness of 2.3 mm. As with every coin mintage, deviations of 0.1 mm in diameter and 0.15 mm in thickness are allowed for these coins. A deviation of up to 0.26 g in weight and an upward deviation of 1% in silver content are allowed. The obverse of the two-hundred-crown coin features a stylized depiction of the developmental stages of a person with three overlapping portraits in profile. The name of the state “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” is printed in an unclosed copy around the circumference of the coin. The denomination with the abbreviation of the monetary unit “200 CZK” is located at the bottom right edge of the coin. The mark of the Czech Mint, which consists of the letters “Č” and “M”, is located below the denomination. The reverse of the two-hundred-crown coin features a portrait of Aleš Hrdlička. The text “ALEŠ HRDLIČKA” is printed in an unclosed copy around the circumference of the coin. The years “1869” and “2019” and an Indian headdress are located at the bottom right edge of the coin. The mark of the coin’s designer, Asamat Baltaev, DiS., is located below the year 2019. Each coin is accompanied by a brown catalogue card with a description of the coin and its plastic representation.
