Gold coin 5000 CZK City Monument Reserve Kroměříž 2021 Proof

On May 30, 2023, the Czech National Bank will issue the fifth gold coin from the Urban Monument Reserve series. Its theme is the city of Kroměříž. The coin is minted from 999.9 fineness gold and is issued in two versions, regular and high-quality (proof), which differ in surface finish and edge design. In high-quality coins, the field of the coin is highly polished and the relief is matted, the edge is smooth. Regular quality coins have a serrated edge. The diameter of the coin is 28 mm, the weight is 15.55 g and the thickness is 1.85 mm. When minting coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and in thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. In weight, a deviation of up to 0.062 g is allowed, and in gold content, a deviation of up to 0.01%. On the obverse, the upper half of the coin depicts a part of the colonnade in the Flower Garden in Kroměříž with heraldic animals from the large state emblem between the individual columns, namely the Czech lion in the middle, the Moravian eagle to the left and the Silesian eagle to the right. The shadows of the heraldic animals and columns are depicted in the lower half of the coin. At the upper edge of the coin, the text “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA” is in the copy. At the lower edge of the coin, the text “MĚSTSKÉ PAMÁTKOVÉ REZERVACE” and the denomination of the coin’s nominal value with the abbreviation of the monetary unit “5,000 CZK” are located. The text is separated from the denomination of the coin with the abbreviation of the monetary unit by a mark in the shape of “○”. The mark of the Czech Mint, which consists of the letters “Č” and “M”, is placed above the Czech lion. On the reverse side of the coin, in the upper half, there is a collage of the most important architectural monuments of the Kroměříž Municipal Monument Reserve, from the left the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Church of St. Morice, Archbishop's Castle and the Rotunda in the Flower Garden is located in the lower half of the coin. At the bottom edge of the coin is the text "MĚSTO KROMĚŘÍŽ". The year of mintage "2023" is located above the image of the Archbishop's Castle. The initials of the coin's designer, Karolína Kučerová, DiS., which are formed by doubling the letters "K", are located at the bottom edge of the coin.
