On May 31, 2022, the Czech National Bank will issue the third gold coin from the Urban Monument Reserve cycle. Its theme is the city of Mikulov. The coin is minted from 999.9 fine gold and is issued in two versions, regular and high-quality (proof), which differ in surface finish and edge design. In high-quality coins, the field of the coin is highly polished and the relief is matted, the edge is smooth. Regular quality coins have a serrated edge. The diameter of the coin is 28 mm, the weight is 15.55 g and the thickness is 1.85 mm. When minting coins, deviations in diameter of 0.1 mm and in thickness of 0.15 mm are allowed. The weight is allowed to vary up to 0.062 g and the gold content to vary up to 0.01%. The obverse of the coin depicts the Mikulov Castle in the left part. In the middle of the coin is an artistic composition of stylized heraldic animals from the great state emblem, namely the Czech lion at the top, the Moravian eagle in the middle and the Silesian eagle at the bottom. To the right of the heraldic animals is the vertical text “ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA”. The right part of the coin depicts the statue of Pomona from the medieval fountain on the Square in Mikulov. The denomination of the coin with the abbreviation of the monetary unit “5,000 CZK” is located above the Czech lion. At the right edge of the coin, the text “MĚSTSKÉ PAMÁTKOVÉ REZERVACE” is in the copy. The mark of the Czech Mint, which consists of the letters “Č” and “M”, is located above the roof of the Mikulov castle. On the reverse side of the coin is a composition depicting the most important architectural monuments of the Mikulov Municipal Monument Reserve, namely from the left the Dietrichstein Tomb, the Upper Synagogue and the sgraffito burgher house U rytířů with a corner quadrilateral bay window. At the top edge of the coin is the text "MĚSTO" and to the left of the bay window is the vertical text "MIKULOV". The year of mintage "2022" is located above the depiction of the Dietrichstein tomb. The initials of the coin's author, academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů, which are formed by a composition of the letters "F" and "Z", are located at the right edge of the coin.
